I went with my crew to my chosen filming location, New Road, to do a recce and a run through with the equipment. During this recce, I was looking at how the scene can be shot, what angles I want to use, and the which camera works better. I had to decide how I wanted to shoot myself as, because I am in my chair, I will be lower than the rest of the cast and therefore one shot won't work unless it is wide. This is why having the camera at a lower angle and filming us from below will work well, and my original idea of having me and the other actors coming in from the side of the shot and then the camera focusing on each of our faces in turn will be better than a close, front shot. Any shot with me in scene will need to be shot from a lower angle.
We filmed a small amount of footage to see check how much glare the sunlight would create and which direction we would need to film to try to keep this to a minimum. We also practiced adapting the aperture.
