My evaluation of my Sound Walk:
The Sound Walk was difficult to create to begin with, but it got easier as I got into it. I was trying to create a new, and scary, atmosphere for the listener as they walked around college, and tried to take them to a different world. I have included sounds of smashing glass, chainsaws, and running. I took inspiration from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and old B-Movie/Slasher films. I set all this to a background of creepy music in order to build tension and suspense as the listener walked through the corridors. I wanted to make it more accessible to wheelchair users. To do this I set the timings to fit the speed of a wheelchair user and I included time using the lift - not only is this necessary for the wheelchair user, it also added extra tension and fear as lifts are enclosed and you don't know what is going to be outside the doors when they open! |

My evaluation of my piece to camera.
The biggest obsticle for me was my speech. I am very self aware of how I speak and I had to make sure I talked slowly and clearly which I think I managed to do. I would have liked a bit more time too prepare for it and practice to help build my confidence, however I was very happy with the content that I spoke about. I was very pleased with the background in my piece to camera as it matched to what I was speaking about as the person watching would know what I was speaking about. I have included everything I wanted to say and I feel that I gave a good brief outline of all the projects I had worked on. |
